Fish Biologist Robot!
We taught the robot what fish and trash look like. Among the creatures below, which one does our robot not recognize?
Why couldn't our robot correctly identify aquatic creatures?
Correct answer: Because we didn’t show the robot pictures of aquatic creatures during the training phase. If the robot sees something it hasn't been trained on, it usually makes mistakes or guesses with low confidence. Robots only understand things well if they have previously seen and learned their patterns.
Review of the other options:
Option 1: Robots are not inherently intelligent creatures and often make mistakes. But our robot couldn’t recognize aquatic creatures because it didn’t know what they were (we didn’t teach it), not because it isn’t smart.
Option 3: Robots don’t have feelings like humans, and the actions they take are based on the training they have received.
Okay, we realized the training we gave our robot was incomplete. We hadn’t shown it all aquatic creatures and had only taught it about fish. So, let’s go complete the robot’s training! 🐟🦈
